The ABW detects and counters hostile activities conducted by foreign states and organisations.
Our organisation safeguards the constitutional order, protects classified information and defends strategic economic interests of Poland.
We operate in physical and digital worlds, both domestically and through international cooperation. The secrecy of our operations is our advantage – it enables us to carry out tasks that are beyond the reach of others.
As an intelligence service, we are subject to civilian oversight: our activities are supervised by the Prime Minister and scrutinised by the Sejm. Our tasks, duties and powers are regulated by the Act of 24 May 2002 on the Internal Security Agency and the Intelligence Agency.
