Counterterrorism
The ABW identifies and combats terrorist threats. We detect individuals and groups planning acts of violence, financing terrorism or supporting extremist activities. Our service also monitors cyberspace for these threats and actively prevents radicalisation leading to terrorism through public education and trainings.
The ABW is the only service in Poland that identifies and combats crimes related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
Why is this important?
Counterterrorism is crucial to ensuring the security of the state, its citizens and international stability. Counterterrorism measures are designed not only to respond to attacks, but above all to prevent them.
